What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique. During the procedure your technician will use a special blade (a dermaplaning blade) to remove the top layer of skin. This will assist with the treatment of hyperpigmentation and scarring as well as diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The peach fuzz from the surface of your face will also be removed during the procedure, allowing for smoother makeup application and better absorption of products into your skin.

What does the procedure entail?

First your skin will be cleansed to remove any makeup or debris. Then your technician will use alcohol pads to dry your skin out. After it has been dried she will use a dermaplaning blade and carefully remove the top layer of your skin through small strokes across the surface of your face. Once your face has been dermaplaned you will receive a follow up masque to re-hydrate your skin and a moisturizer application.

Is it safe?

Yes! Dermaplaning is very safe. Our technician went through training to be able to offer this service and spent additional hours practicing the procedure.

Does it hurt?

No, dermaplaning is not designed to hurt. You may feel a scraping sensation as your technician uses the blade, or you may feel mild discomfort from the dryness of your skin, but it shouldn’t hurt. If you find something painful please speak up and let your technician know.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

7 days prior to your appointment, stop using all Retinol and Glycolic Acid products. You also want to limit your sun exposure in the days prior to your appointment as your technician cannot perform the procedure on you if you have any redness or burns.

How often can I get it done?

Dermaplaning can be done every 3-4 weeks.

What should I expect after the appointment?

Your skin may be red after your treatment. This redness will fade in a few hours. You will want to avoid sun exposure immediately following your appointment and make sure that you use sunscreen in the upcoming weeks. After your first appointment Flawless will give you a post-treatment kit that includes travel-sized bottles of the Image Skincare line to care for your skin. After your second appointment you will receive 15% off of all retail products; Flawless requires the purchase of a sunscreen so that we can be sure you are adequately caring for your skin after the treatment.

How do I care for my tan?

Avoid water for the next 8-12 hours right after tanning. The key to keeping your tan lasting the longest is to moisturize. Avoid exfoliation for the next 3-5 days.

Here at Flawless, we offer different types of lash extensions sets. We offer classic, glamour, and Volume lash sets. Lashes range in different lengths from 7-16mm and different thicknesses.

-A Classic set is an hour and a half appointment and will give you about 70-80% of your lashes with extensions this is going to be a natural look that is suitable for most people.

-A Glamor set is a two-hour appointment that gives you 95-100% of your lashes with extensions this is for a super full look.

Volume sets are when multiple thinner extensions are made into a group and apply to a lash individually.

After your lash appointment, you always want lashes to remain dry for the next 24 hours. Stay away from oil-based products. Use oil-free eye make up remover. Do not use waterproof mascara or eyeliner.

Can I wear makeup with my eyelash extensions?

Yes, you can wear makeup, but you want to stay away from oil-based products and there is no need to wear mascara.

What happens if I don't want them anymore?

We do not recommend removing eyelash extensions yourself. Coming into the salon to remove eyelash extensions takes no more than 30 minutes.

What is the procedure for brides or other special events?
Due to the nature of special events, Flawless requests that you come in two weeks prior to your event to have a full set put on and revisit the salon for a fill the week of your event. While negative reactions to our lashes and glue are rare, they do happen, and we kindly request that you allow yourself the buffer time in the event of such a reaction. We will be happy to assist you with the scheduling for the special events of your life.
